Roy Rogers was an American singer and actor. His singing career started in the mid-thirties as a member of the Sons of the Pioneers. One of the first songs they recorded was their famous 'Tumbling Tumbleweeds'. Since mid-thirty and through many changes in membership, the Sons of the Pioneers have remained one of the longest-surviving Country music vocal groups. The song 'Home On The Range' is a traditional good ole Western song that through lyrics gives one a view of life on the prairie in earlier times. Known as the 'King of the Cowboys', he appeared in over 100 films and numerous radio and television episodes of The Roy Rogers Show. TV theme of the show was 'Happy Trails' sung as a duet by Roy Rogers and his wife Dale Evans.
