With CALM, Evelyn Huber has succeeded in creating a special sound experience - devotional and atmospheric-meditative - this is how the mood of Huber's playing on her new album can be de-scribed. The pure harp sound, crystal clear and filigree recorded, make these recordings something special: Created from the silence of the Corona lockdown at home in their own acoustically ge-nial dressing room sound studio equipped with the finest microphones. "It was very close to my heart that the album should radiate the greatest possible tranquility. And for that I created the most relaxed recording situation imaginable. At my house in my basement studio. This room was not born as a studio, but was and still is primarily my walk-in and window-less closet. Surrounded by concert clothes and sportswear on the right and left instead of the soundproof walls often used in studios, this room is acoustically ideal and 100% suitable for studi-os. Out of the concentration of the lockdown in the spring of 2021, often in the silence of the night, the album was born - and it turned out exactly as I wanted it to." Little gems by revered fellow musicians like Gregor Huebner's "For Gile" and Fung Chern Hwei's "In Case A Goodbye," by New York's "Sirius (String) Quartet" join favorite pieces by notable musical greats like Olafur Arnald's "Tomorrow's Song." Charlie Chaplin with his bewitchingly charming "Smile", favorite film scores such as the enchanting theme from "Il Postino" by Luis Barcalov and "Once upon a time in America" by the recently deceased grand master Ennio Morricone. A little yuzin by the "Magic World of Amelie" composer Yann Tiersen. And the beguiling "Liberetto" - Eve-lyn Huber's favorite piece - by Swedish jazz bassist Lars Danielsson. A number of her own composi-tions round off the successful album CALM.
