Some of the best Cowboy and Western singers of all time team up for this vintage trucker themed compilation. Featuring Eddie Dean, who Roy Rogers and Gene Autry termed the best Cowboy singer of all time; Country and Pop star of the 1950's Rusty Draper; Western Swing icon Tex Williams; Bakersfield country star Red Simpson, and more. Not to be confused with "road" music, Truckmusic is a sub genre of Country & Western music that started in the late 1930's when Cliff Brunner & His Boys record "Truck Driver's Blues" sold 100,000 copies at a time when sales of 5,000 made for a hit Country record. The tradition is still going strong and this compilation, originally released in 1980, is a fitting testament. All selections newly remastered.
