Sabor a Tropico Orquesta Aragon
Sabor a Tropico
Orquesta Aragon
One of the longest running Cuban orquestas, Orquesta Aragin was arguably the finest Charanga group of 1950's and 60's Havana. They were one of the first groups to blend the traditional son with Afro-Cuban rhythms and Spanish melodies over a layer of violins and flutes, which would become synonymous with the charanga sound. The group included some of the best Cuban musicians of the era including Richard Egues, the master flautist; and were highly influential on the New York mambo scene of the late 1950's. These rare classic 1960's era recordings feature the group at the height of their powers. All selections have been newly remastered.
