Bill Evans
Audiophile High quality edition
In September 1956, a 27-year-old pianist named Bill Evans quietly recorded his debut album, “New Jazz Conceptions” – a bold statement from a musician who was still largely unknown: Miles Davis had not yet called him, and most listeners had no idea what to expect from Evans. Listening to the album today, one can already recognize the genius that was to reshape modern jazz piano at that time. On “New Jazz Conceptions”, Evans' introspective touch, harmonic boldness and rhythmic sensitivity were already fully developed.
