Creeper
Creeper are bassist Dan Wilson and saxophonist Luke Townsend from South Africa. On 'Tune the Moon' (2004) they also included virtuoso drummer Wesley Gibbens. Their second album 'Time it Was' was an eclectic mix of acid-jazz, sparse groove and funk. On 'Tune the Moon' they supplemented this approach with extra instruments such as synthesizer, melodica and flute. Creeper produce an eclectic musical mix that is peculiar to South Africa where Africa meets Europe meets the Blues meets Brazil ..... The spirit of versatility is driven by a vast array of grooves that drummer Wesley Gibbens plays from intense drum 'n bass and funk stylings to blissed-out reggae and ambient textures. On this album they also incorporate Durban-based rapper EWOK on two tracks 'Sleep Talking' and 'Keep on Walking', which give the album an unpredictable varied flavour.
