Water & Spirit

The internationally acclaimed Windsbacher Knabenchor has put together a versatile a cappella program for their new album "Water & Spirit", which revolves around the hymn Veni creator spiritus: They recorded a series of deeply moving motets and psalms from Gregorian chant (Rabanus Maurus), Reformation period (the Lutheran composer Johann Walter), Baroque era (Johann Sebastian Bach and Heinrich Schütz), Classical Modern (Johannes Brahms, Francis Poulenc, Ernst Pepping, Max Reger) to the present day (such as Javier Busto). By doing so, the choir brings the aspects of the "creative spirit" into a sharper focus by various masterpieces of choral tradition and explores the timeless longing for peace, salvation, protection and spiritual enlightenment throughout the history of sacred music.
