Magic Mozart

Magic Mozart brings together favourite numbers and rarities from Mozart operas, six of today's most stylish singers, the Insula Orchestra and conductor Laurence Equilbey, who has been described as "that rare beast, a born Mozartian".

The album is conceived around different forms of magic: black magic, white magic and red magic - the magic of love - all evoked by sopranos Sandrine Piau and Jodie Devos, mezzo-soprano Lea Desandre, tenors Stanislas de Barbeyrac and Loïc Félix, and baritone Florian Sempey.

Arias, duets and trios from Mozart's best-known operas - Le nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni, Così fan tutte, Die Entführung aus dem Serail and Die Zauberflöte - are complemented by numbers from lesser-known works like Bastien und Bastienne, La finta semplice and Der Stein der Weisen, a musical play on which Mozart collaborated with four other composers.
