Bon Iver - i,i
On the new album i,i, Bon Iver continue to experiment with their electronic sound. At the same time, the album completes a cycle of thematic seasons: the debut For Emma, Forever Ago illustrated winter, the self-titled follow-up Bon Iver served as a budding spring, 22, A Million revolved around the fading summer, and now autumn begins with i,i .
The album is led by four sublime singles (Hey, Ma / U (Man Like) / Jelmore / Faith), all of which are a natural extension of the sound from Bon Iver's previous masterpiece 22, A Million .
Justin Vernon says about the album:
"It feels very much like the most adult record, the most complete. It feels like when you get through all this life, when the sun starts to set, and what happens is you start gaining perspective. And then you can put that perspective into more honest, generous work."
The band for the new recordings consisted of Sean Carey, Andrew Fitzpatrick, Mike Lewis, Matt McCaughan, Rob Moose, Jenn Wasner and Justin Vernon. In addition, there have been contributions from James Blake, Brad and Phil Cook, Aaron and Bryce Dessner, Bruce Hornsby, Channy Leaneagh, Naeem, Velvet Negroni, Marta Salogni, Francis Starlite, Moses Sumney, TU Dance and many more.
