The book Sledgehammer Sentence is nostalgic feeling of isolation and confinement, going crazy when you found yourself in 7-by-10 foot concrete cell that had a solid metal door with a small window made of hard plastic. In a society willing to incarcerate more than is necessary to accomplish [legitimate] goals of sentencing. A good many were put in there for donkey years for acts of nonviolent rule breaking. You witness firsthand wasted resources, dangerous overcrowding and needless over incarceration that takes a large individual and societal toll. Billions of tax payer's dollar wasting and loss of individual freedom that results in family broken.
