Publisher Marketing: Skin is a story of restoration, the restoration of a house and of two lives. The house is a gem which has been treated badly and all but abandoned. The lives are more complicated. Sam-an older man-tragically lost a great love. To be whole again he needs to love again. Toby-a younger man-didn't exactly find love but thought he did which is nearly the same thing. He, too, lost that love, not through tragedy but through treachery which is perhaps worse. It takes the city of Palm Springs to bring these three together: Sam, Toby and a house named Deva Shaante. Along the way we romp through the clothing optional and more playful parts of Palm Springs in the company of a lot of interesting people. We also encounter wealth, death, love and murder. A house named Deva Shaante brings Sam Davis and Toby Litchfield together. Sam is an older man who tragically lost his first love. Toby, much younger, lost a lover, too. But he lost his through treachery instead of a tragedy. Through restoring the house, a mid-century gem, both learn to trust and rebuild a relationship. Along the way, they explore the clothing optional and playful parts of Palm Springs. As Sam sheds his old 'skin', he finds new friends, a fun life, and...a dead body next door. Contributor Bio: Bowden, Greg Greg Bowden is a native Californian and thus a product of California schools in the 1940's and 50's. For a lot of years Greg was well aware that he had stories he needed to tell but he wouldn't attempt to put them on paper because everyone laughed at his pathetic attempts at spelling. Then came The Greatest Invention of All Time: the spellchecker. (Well, maybe the second greatest; the Stall Shower is right up there with it.) At any rate, once he began to write he couldn't be stopped. Over the years his stories have appeared in magazines, anthologies, on the Internet and, now, in books. For whatever it's worth, Greg is also able to say that some of his stories have been translated into both French and Dutch. Greg lives and writes in Palm Springs, California, and still can't spell. He lives with John, his partner of thirty-eight years and Winnifred, the most stubborn Wire Hair Fox Terrier in the state, possibly the entire world. All in all he's a very lucky guy.
