The Farmhand
David Bruce
Twenty-something Louis Gardere needed a paycheck. He found out that the quickest way to a paycheck was by working at Louisiana State Penitentiary (Angola). However, Louis soon found out that the costs to his psyche were greater than the benefits. The fragile world of Louis Gardere cracked under the pressure of the penal system, forcing him to deal with his role in ways that he never imagined. THE FARMHAND, written by former correctional officer David Bruce, introduces the reader to a world that few have ever witnessed. Relying on his numerous years working at Angola, David Bruce takes the reader on a journey into the bowels of a brutal and disturbing world of inmates and officers.
