Nicky Webber
Returned WWII New Zealand soldier, Sargent Mick Thompson, has a secret double-life which protects and comforts him from harsh reality. In this true story, Moira is a beautiful, refined, well-educated woman who wants only the finest things in life.
Trouble is, Mick falls in love with Glenda, his neighbor's wife. It gets worse. She is pregnant. In 1947 while the post-war world still licks its wounds, and where money and religion have a tight grip on social convention, Mick and Moira find themselves in the crosshairs, fighting for survival, when all they want is to love and let live.
This post-war family saga exposes Mick's struggle with memories of war, love and betrayal, making this real-life story a captivating read.
