It's 1988. Daniel Bryant is twenty two years old and barely existing in the depressed economy of a tiny farming village in Northern England. Determined to start a new life for himself, the self-educated product of a strong willed and now deceased Irish mother, Daniel embarks on a one way trip over the Atlantic, and finds himself alone in New York with a student visa and less than $500 to his name. It is here in America he meets Bostonian Jim Brennan, a street smart salesman who introduces Daniel to the lucrative timeshare business, where he quickly becomes consumed by an industry that is plagued by greed, deception and double dealings. Sucked into a new world that takes him from Vail, Colorado to the beaches of the Caribbean, Daniel meets the free spirited Laura Harriman and is forced to make choices that will change his life forever. Liners depicts not only the dark side of an industry still in its unregulated infancy, but the constant struggle of a young man whose dream to find a home in America is constantly being threatened.
