Sonny Rollins, one of jazz's great tenors, is heard at his peak... Not only did Rollins have a very distinctive sound, but his use of time, his sly wit, and his boppish but unpredictable style were completely his own. "At The Music Inn" was recorded in 1958. Although Rollins only plays on half of the tracks the recordings are well worth hearing because he is at his best and at times his sardonic side almost sounds as though he wanted to prick the pretensions of the Modern Jazz Quartet.
