Their 1987 studio album 'In The Dutch Mountains' recorded LIVE in their own Werf-studio in Amsterdam was The Nits' most successful album to date and the first to gain a U. K. and U. S. release. The album opener and title track "In The Dutch Mountains" reached several charts in Europe and remains one of the band's best known songs. Maybe even better, although less successful, is the album's other single "J. O. S. Days" an autobiographic song about singer Henk Hofstede's failed football carrier. There's also more experimental stuff such as the excellent piano based "The Swimmer" played by former Supersister front-man Robert Jan Stips.
