Music That Inspired The Blues Brothers
Blues Brothers
Blues and R&B, both folk-based forms of black American music forerunning rock, will always be the substrate from which other more current styles are nurtured. The Blues Brothers were one of their most iconic ambassadors among the general public. The duo delivered spirited renditions of classic blues anthems, as well as soul hits in the tradition of Atlantic Records and the signature Stax-Volt sound. This 3CD edition presents the influences behind The Blues Brothers, including a large selection of those sensational tunes (which they either covered or were simply inspired by) performed here from such original pioneers as Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Robert Johnson, Elvis Presley, Booker T. & The MGs, Etta James, Cab Calloway, James Brown, and The Staple Singers, among many others.
Recorded in USA, between 1930 and 1962.
