Sister Sonny
Sister Sonny was formed in Bergen in 1994, and debuted with the Ep "Holly Golightly" in 1995 and released their first long player "Why I feel She's Not To Be Trusted" in 1997. Apollon Records is proud to release some of the band's most important albums for the first time on vinyl! This, their second album, Lovesongs (1999, Rec 90) was recorded and mixed during one night in Duper Studio with producer Jørge Træen (Jaga Jazzist, Kaizers etc) an improvisational, sea sick work which is seen by many as Sister Sonny's masterpiece, it sold about 6,000 copies in the United States, and entered the top 10 US college radio's top 500, where artists like David Bowie and Radiohead were. These releases show how playful and industrious Sister Sonny was; one moment, they may sound tough, monotonous and serious, and the next they appear as foolish, experimental or grandiose. The releases are produced by Jørgen Træen and Sister Sonny, and come in newly 2018 masters.
