If you bought the first six volumes of the Rock des Antipodes (deep respect!), you must have noticed that some big names of the Australian Rock were missing, for exclusivity or rights issues. With this seventh volume, we remedy this a little bit. The titles of Midnight Oil, Inxs, Icehouse, Split Enz and of course AC/DC are finally part of the family. More diverse than the first volumes, this compilation gives pride of place to Australian Rock in it's widest: from The Church to Rose Tattoo, from The Angels to Cold Chisel and Hoodoo Gurus, the sweep of fifty years of Rock has been masterfully passed by more or less established bands. Groups entered the studio to record their versions (Ty Coates' Bombers, Red Dragon Blues) and rubbed shoulders with the cream of the crop (Grinspoon, The Living End, The Divinyls, volumes, this compilation gives pride of place to Australian Rock in it's widest: from The Church to Rose Tattoo, from The Angels to Cold Chisel and Hoodoo Gurus, the sweep of fifty years of Rock has been masterfully passed by more or less established bands.
