Texas born American soul and funk singer Leon Haywood is perhaps best known for his song "I Wanta Do Something Freaky to You" which has been sampled by various artists including Dr. Dre, Mariah Carey and Redman. His career began in the early 1960's, having over 20 singles on the US R&B chart beginning in 1965. Presented here is Haywood's classic 1966 album "Soul Cargo" containing original compositions and a few soul standards including Percy Mayfield's "The River's Invitation," Brook Benton's "I'll Take Car of You" and Bobby Bland's "I Pity the Fool." All selections newly re-mastered.
