The idea came about in 2001, Gangsta Reese had just released his nationwide release 'FULL METAL JACKET' on D.U.G.O.U.T. Records. The plan was to do a follow up, a 'Super Group' album consisting of Gangsta Reese and Young 211 from San Jose, Ca. with G-Man from Watts, Ca. It was in the making, but things took a turn for the negative with G-Man going back to prison, violater with a new beef. With the unplanned parting of G-man, Young 211 and Gangsta Reese decided to pursue other ventures, but still kept in close contact. Enter CONVIC in 2006......Convic convinced Reese to come out of a self-imposed 'retirement' and get to work on the Enemigos album. At this time the last album Gangsta Reese released was East Side Stories Vol. 1 which was a compilation of different appearences by Reese Loc on various albums, with 5 new songs added to make the project bang harder. All that was missing now was a producer. Word went out on a popular rap website that Gangsta Reese was looking for production from an up and coming producer who would like to be a part of the Enemigos project. Sacramento raised and Oakland based producer Filthy Rich answered the call, and the 3 began to work dilligently on the Enemigos project. What happened next was magic. Two of the hardest spitters from East San Jose with Filthy on the beats was turning out to be a winning combination. Careful not to put no bullsh*t out, they took thier time to put out a quality album, not no rush job that cheats the fans out of a solid release. The masterpiece 'Agony & Ecstacy' began to form right before thier eyes. They enlisted heavy hitters Silence, Shea Sav, Tha Critic (Young 211), and others to bless certain tracks with thier own unique styles so that the listener would have a well rounded album. They even took it old school by having Filthy produce the WHOLE album, so this way the artist worked directly and very close with the producer so that the sound would be like no other. 21 tracks of pure fire. It has been dubbed as the most anticipated release to come out in a long while, and when it did finally hit the streets, it did not disappoint. It was worth the wait. Production is precise, and the lyrical content is on point. You will not skip tracks on this CD, it will be that one that you can play all the way through.
