At the age of 33, there hasn't been much that Chad Lawson hasn't done. This album, Chad Lawson Trio, was the debut album for Chad Lawson. It was originally recorded as a Christmas gift to his mom, and a disc jockey heard the album and it went from there. Charting numerous jazz charts and featured on over 200 radio stations in the US alone. It's original release was in 1998 and is now available here at CD Baby. Lawson just completed a world wide tour playing keyboards with legendary Julio Iglesias, while in the same year catching the ear of legendary producer and label founder William Ackerman of Windham Hill Records. Ackerman is credited with not only forming the Windham Hill label, but launching such artist as George Winston and Michael Hedges to name only a few. Ackerman will be producing Lawson's upcoming solo piano at his studio in June. 'This is the best music I've heard in years' Ackerman said upon hearing Lawson's solo piano material. With Lawson on one side of the glass, and Will on the other side along with Grammy Award winning engineer Corin Nelson, it's an album worth anticipating. With 3 released albums, 2 with Summit Records, Chad and his trio have performed each coast of the US, as well as Japan. His last album 'Unforeseen' went to #8 on the national jazz charts while 'Dear Dorothy: the Oz Sessions' was featured in Starbucks retail stores throughout the country. That album also enabled the trio to perform 3 of Lawson's compositions on the nationally syndicated television show 'Dawson's Creek' which launched an entirely new audience. With the coming release of Chad Lawson's solo piano album, much is to be expected within the months to come.
