Paul Martin
Name: Paul David Martin Birth Place: Brooklyn, NY Instruments: Acoustic & Electric Guitars, Bass Guitar, Keyboards, Drums Influences: Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Moody Blues, ELO, Buddy Holly Singer/songwriter/musician Paul Martin is one of New Jersey's best unsung songwriters. This CD 'proves to me that there are still strong songwriters in this world', according to Music Connection. Originally from Brooklyn, Paul learned to play drums at an early age, but put them aside to concentrate on guitar and bass. As an original member of the band, Dagger, he picked up the keyboards. As the band evolved into a trio, Paul shared the vocal duties, played bass and keyboards. In the years following Dagger, Paul never stopped writing and now has a huge catalog of songs. The title track of 'Nowhere' is a good example of the melody and rhythmic driven style that Paul delivers throughout the album. 'Songs Of Yesterday', 'Twist Of Fate', and 'Lonely People' tell stories of his past experiences while 'Peace' speaks from the heart. Lyrically, all the tunes hit the mark. Also memorable is 'One More Day', a tribute to John Lennon.
