Bobby Wilson
Bobby Wilson, pianist and vocalist, possesses a unique talent that is difficult to find locally. After classically studying/ training in music, Bobby left his native New York to further his career. He has been perfecting his talent for the last thirty years. As a solo act (singer) in the 70âs, Bobby scored on Billboardâs national charts three times with his singles from his album Iâll Be Your Rainbow on Buddah Records. His second album âToo Many Memoriesâ on his Jazzberry Records continues to sell well on the internet and through out the world; his earlier recorded music on the Buddah label such as Deeper and Deeper and It Feels Good has appeared on many dance compilations and he remains very popular in Japan and England today. His single, âLet Me Down Slow,â is on the nine CD Stax Volt Greatest Hit Compilation. The compilation is a volume of Stax number one hits. Bobby has been the opening act for recording artists The Stylistics, Billy Paul, The Dramatics, Luther Ingram, and many more. Among his achievements, Bobby won the Amatuer Night at the Apollo Theatre in New York and later opened for Melba Moore at the Apollo. Later in the 70âs, Bobby signed with Motown as a staff songwriter for the publishing wing, Jobete. Bobby had the opportunity to further hone his craft by working with artists Diana Ross, Mary Wilson, Thelma Houston, and others. After leaving Motown, Bobby continued to perfect his vocal and piano skills by performing as a lounge artist. He has played in hundreds of hotels from Holiday Inns to the Trump Casino and everything in between, including cruise ships. Now Bobby releases his Here Is Where The Love Is CD on his independent label Flycity records which he feels is his best work to date. Bobby wrote the title song but moves effortlessly through some great hits of the past with heartfelt emotion and feeling. This CD brings to mind some of the great love songs such as: What You Wonât Do For Love, Night And Day, Canât Help Falling In Love, Donât Know Why I Didnât Call, just to mention a few song titles in this seventeen track set compilation.
