George, Don't Do That!
Joyce Grenfell
The late JOYCE GRENFELL, OBE, was a much loved British comedienne, satirist, singer, actress, monologist, poet and writer.
She is perhaps chiefly remembered for such roles as gym mistress Miss Gossage in The Happiest Days of Your Life and Ruby Gates in the St Trinians films, as well as for her extensive TV, radio and stage appearances.
A gifted raconteur, a superb mimic and a quick-witted radio panellist, she built a reputation as a writer and performer during an era when it was highly unusual for a woman from her social background to work in those fields.
This unique compilation presents a selection of her most popular songs, sketches and monologues, including the original, 1942 recording of her signature song 'I'm Going To See You Today'.
A "must-have" collection for Joyce Grenfell fans.
