Johann Sebastian Bach
Amazingly, world premiere recordings of Bach's works are still appearing to this day. The harpsichord player Alexander Grychtolik and founder of the Deutsche Hofmusik ensemble, has extensively reconstructed and partially re-set two of the composer's festive music on this CD. Bach dedicated the coronation cantata BWV to the coronation of August III. of Poland. For this composition, he used music from his dramma per musica "The Satisfied Aeolus (BWV 205)", which he had written in 1725 for the Leipzig University Professor August Friedrich Müller. The so-called "Shepherd cantata" (BWV 249a) was written by Bach in 1725. Grychtolik reconstructed this lost cantata based on the recitatives. The Shepherd Cantata (BWV 249a) sounds similar to melodies from Bachs easter ortatorio.
