Charlton Heston Triple Bill - Mother Lode. 55 Days In Peking & Proud Men

Collection of three action adventures starring Charlton Heston. In '55 Days at Peking' (1963), directed by Nicholas Ray, US Marine Major Matt Lewis (Heston) must work with the British consul Sir Arthur Robinson (David Niven) to unite the disparate national interests present at the Interntional Legation Quarter in Peking when it comes under siege by the Boxer Rebellion. With dwindling resources and a seemingly endless army of rebels, the international coalition must put aside their differences if they have any hope of surviving until relief can reach them.

In 'Mother Lode' (1982), directed by Heston, Andrea (Kim Basinger) employs Jean Dupre (Nick Mancuso) to search for her husband after his flight disappears in the Britsh Columbia wilderness. The two adventurers are forced to pause their search after their flight also crashes, and they soon run into the prospector Silas McGee (Heston), who is adamant about keeping others way from his silver mine. As Andrea and Jean spend time with Silas and his brother Ian (also Heston), it becomes apparent that they might know something about Andrea's husband.

In 'Proud Men' (1987), directed by William A. Graham, Vietnam veteran Charley MacLeod Jr. (Peter Strauss) decides to return to his family ranch after he learns that his father, Charley Sr.

(Heston) is terminally ill. Having never forgiven his son for going AWOL during the war, the highly conservative Charley Sr. struggles to compromise and make amends, causing the already strained relationship between father and son to be pushed to breaking point.
