Kusama - Infinity
American documentary centred on the life and career of Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. Kusama was born in 1929 in Matsumoto, Nagano where she lived a turbulent childhood during World War II. In her teens, after she began to experience hallucinations involving flashes of light and patterns of dots, she channelled these visions onto physical mediums and became immersed in the world of abstract art.
Kusama discusses her experiences growing up in Japan, how her family received her artwork and her struggles with mental illness.
