Life and Wartimes
George Formby
George Formby was the number one box office attraction in England during the war years. The incredibly upbeat comedian from Lancashire was best known for his comic songs and his 'banjolele' strumming. This documentary, made in 1967 and narrated by Formby's regular co-star Gary Marsh, charts the star's meteoric rise to celebrity from his early days playing music halls.
