One of the milestone films of it's era, this satirical drama stars Peter Boyle as Joe Curran, a bigoted, beer-swilling hardhat who befriends strait-laced advertising exec Bill Compton (Dennis Patrick) after Bill confesses he killed his daughter Melissa's (Susan Sarandon, in her screen debut) drug dealer boyfriend.
