Swallow The Sun | Shining
As a follow-up to their highly regarded Moonflowers (2021), Swallow the Sun’s upcoming album Shining takes a notably different path. According to guitarist Juha Raivio, after the emotional depth of Moonflowers, he sought a creative release that wouldn’t consume him in the same way. Shining captures this shift, combining intense heaviness with moments of reflective beauty.
Produced by Dan Lancaster, known for his work with Bring Me the Horizon and Muse, the album pushes the band out of their comfort zone, embracing a mix of raw power and polished production. Lyrically, it delves into profound existential themes, such as the struggle to overcome self-inflicted emotional pain.
