One evening in an almost empty high-rise in present-day London, Adam (Andrew Scott) has a chance encounter with a mysterious neighbor, Harry (Paul Mescal), who destroys Adam's everyday rhythm. As a relationship develops between them, Adam is consumed by memories of the past and drawn back to the suburban town where he grew up and the childhood home where his parents (Claire Foy and Jamie Bell) seem to live, just as they did the day they died in a car accident 30 years earlier.
