The old saying goes ... sticks and stones may break your bones but words will never hurt you. Tank's life has never been one filled with drama or confusion. He's a self-made entrepreneur that takes pride in his work just as much as he takes pride in his family. He's raising his younger sister due to their father serving time in prison. All he knows is work, and home day in and day out. Growing up he learned that you only can get betrayed by the people that are closest to you. So in order to stay away from the betrayal he keeps everyone at bay. His motto is to never have 'friends' and to never give his heart to a woman. That is until he met Arryan. Once he laid his eyes on her everything he's lived by went out the window. Arryan works long hours as a charge nurse in a busy hospital's emergency department. She doesn't realize that the long hours are putting an additional strain on her doomed marriage to her high school sweetheart Tristan. One night at work changes both of their lives forever as well as their daughter Alexis. In a blink of an eye, Arryan finds herself desperate to get a grasp on her life that's spiraling out of control. She feels like she'll never make it until she happened to ask a stranger a question while sitting at the bar in a lounge one night. Alexis is a fun-loving, energetic teenager who had her parents thinking that she was just a simple young lady with nothing but books on her mind. However, in reality, Alexis was fighting a demon that only one person knew about. When Alexis finds out about her parent's marital problems she holds on to the faith that everything will work out for the best. Soon she finds herself in the middle of a revenge plot that has been put in motion against her family for actions that took place just after she was born. This is a tale of lies and truths that destroy and decimate the lives that individuals lead. It may be true that words can't physically hurt you but, they sure can turn your world upside down.
