Can one lonely teacher heal the heart of a broken and bitter man? New to Faith's Creek, Jacob Weaver and his daughter Rachel are suffering from a great loss. Neither Jacob nor Rachel have been the same since the death of Elizabeth, Jacob's wife and Rachel's mother. Martha Lapp is a schoolteacher approaching thirty who has abandoned the idea of marriage. She also suffered a great loss at a young age and understands what her new student Rachel and her father are going through and would like to help. Jacob has become cold and bitter. He has no interest in connecting with anyone including his daughter. But when Rachel becomes withdrawn and angry her teacher Martha knows she must get through to Jacob.
