One day, some time ago, about three or four years ago, once I had finished studying a course in Sao Paulo Brazil, I simply asked myself: "How can I contribute to my environment with the knowledge I have, by means of an "instrument" that would make a sound impact on most people in the world? At that moment, I had already written my first book "Where is Mercury?" and the draft of my second "Resonance Marketing", and I was in the quest for raising my satisfaction level, so I decided to study "narrative writing" thoroughly as a requirement I set up to myself in order to write my third book in a different way since I wanted it to be classified as an "instrument" - at that time, it did not even have a name. Two years of learning under the expert guidance of Professor José Alejandro Valencia-Arenas, director of the International Narrative Writing Workshop (Lima, Peru), and plenty of reading and learning the writing techniques, which I applied in countless homework done, took me to the moment I had to submit my thesis and with it, came my first challenge. In the process of learning, I read writers of the stature of Miguel De Cervantes (1547 - 1616), Marqués De Sade (1740 - 1814), Goethe (1749 - 1832), Jane Austen (1775 - 1817), Víctor Hugo (1802 - 1885), Julio Verne (1828 - 1905), León Tolstói (1828 - 1910), Franz Kafka (1883 - 1924), García Márquez (1927-2004), Pablo Neruda (1904-1973), Mario Vargas Llosa, José Martí (1853 -1895), Jorge Luis Borges (1899-1986), Isabel Allende, Jaime Bayly Letts (1965), and Alfonso Prudencio Claure known as Paulovich (1927 - 2018). Of course, --having read such a caliber authors and having listened, in literary circles, that said sort of books are not literature, not to mention the couple of unorthodox adjectives about this type of writing seasoning the opinions--, I questioned myself and tried to understand these people's point of view. Nevertheless, this was not an absolute truth, there were just dissimilar points of view --different than mine. Thus, in view of this "social" reality and my desire to indulge my passion, the challenge of writing a self-help book with a literary structure depicting the various techniques of narrative writing was born in me. It had to be a self-help manual so it may cause surprise to those dissenting voices. Regardless of all this, I decided to put in writing my decision following my genuine commitment to service, thinking of those who do believe life is a constant learning process and those who are always in the search for answers. So, I decided to do it under the light of four self-imposed rules: - The novel-manual had to be a light, a travel book, easy to read, for every audience, and no more than two hundred pages.- Its structure should be strictly narrative, using the wide spectrum of narrative writing techniques, I would be able to tell a nice story.- Technically, it should be based on the teaching and learning theories to carry out the accompaniment to all the people possible, i.e., in their own internal process of deep learning.- The novel-manual had to be an innovative commercial product in the field of literature, inexpensive and giving the reader the option to generate practical results. With this self-imposed action framework, I had a huge challenge. As a matter of fact, everything is born out of a question: How -applying the learning process, the narrative writing and always keeping in mind my desire to share with others what I know- can I produce a "work" based on the self-help method while I keep the standard of quality literature? To reach my goal, I had first to understand how the learning process operates in the human being; and, then on this basis, create a metaphor (my character's story) applying the different techniques of narrative writing.
