The Poisoned Vines

How on earth could I have been so naive? I met and fell in love with Gilles de Vaux, eldest son of the huge de Vaux estates in France. Our marriage was initially full of love and happiness but when I gave birth to a daughter and not a son my life began to come apart bit by bit, piece by piece, day by day. I struck up a friendshipo with Matt McClusky the estate manager, as he was the only adult I could communicate with. Together we realised that Gilles and his powerful father the Comte de Vaux were both hiding a murderous secret which was to engdanger all our lives. There was nothing I could do to protect myself and Annalise my daughter so I ran away. But an unforseen and tragic event in France was to lead to a very different outcome for me, Matt, and Annalise. And you know what? there is a lot of truth in the saying "Love conquers everything"
