Horace: An Irish Tale
James Wilson
I've always considred my father, "old school". Not that he was backward in any way, just that he was comfortably old in his style, words and habits . Horace, An Irish Tale is his story. Born in Ireland in 1918 he always thought of himself as a true Irish man. Raised at very different time in Ireland, it is hard to believe in just a few decades society, culture and life changed so dramatically. Being Irish he had the gift of eloquence and I often found it difficult to distinguish his tales of truth from those of fiction, since his tall tales were both amazingly funny and unbelievable. In his belief, his memories and his thoughts, his experiences and tales were largely truthful, but to avoid any confusion or potential comparisions being drawn, we will call this tale, a work of fiction . Lets call it, "A fictional biography". But, should you choose to research elements of his story, you will be surprised by the amount of fact within. I dedicated this book to the wonderful memories of my father. It was his life and it's his story. The times he lived through and the childhood he experienced; we will never see their like again. They are sadly now assigned to history and lost in time.
