? Thomas More's Utopia is a work of fiction with a frame narrative that depicts a fictional island society and its religious, social, and political customs. It´s divided into two books.
The Book subtitled Discourses of Raphael Hythloday of the Best State of a Commonwealth, narrated by a fictionalized version of More himself, is about his interactions with Peter Giles- an old friend and a new friend named Raphael Hythloday, and other characters he met in Europe.
The three discuss whether or not philosophy can influence politics, which ends with Raphael mentioning a place called Utopia.
Thomas and Peter argue that it is better to work on improving the situation as it stands rather than to hope for a perfect nation, but Raphael begs to differ.
Is Utopia really the ideal place?
