After driving a drunk party guest to his ex-wife's condo, attorney Tracy Brubaker finds herself in the middle of another murder investigation, only this time as a witness! Gemma White, having just returned from a business trip, has been shot to death. Tracy hears the fatal noise, as does White's inebriated ex-husband, Patrick Vinton. Police first think the crime is related to a series of burglaries in the area. But Tracy suspects there's much more to the murder than a botched theft. She soon learns the victim was working with the FBI regarding two previous unsolved killings. Much more troublesome, however, is that a former informant of Tracy's father is arrested for the burglaries. Coincidence? The attorney doesn't think so. Determined to learn the truth, Tracy eventually butts heads with a very clever killer, who may have committed the perfect murder! The sixth entry in the Tracy Brubaker series, Murders and Acquisitions finds the attorney hunting for a new home, as well as that final piece of evidence that will nail an especially cocky killer.
