Le esistenze, segnate, stravolte o persino annullate, di chi cerca in un altro luogo possibilità di vita migliore: attraversando l'inferno della Libia e il mare mortale del Mediterraneo, come Faith e Mansoor, o giocando d'inventiva come Sunshine. Queste e altre storie, in tutto dieci folgoranti racconti, che abbracciano - in un tempo dilatato - luoghi, popoli e vite divise dai confini. Confini a volte superati, spesso invalicabili, troppo spesso causa di inumana sofferenza. In un'epoca tempestosa come quella che stiamo vivendo, questi dieci racconti toccano la coscienza e il cuore di ognuno di noi, e ci mostrano - a chi ha occhi per vedere - delle possibilità aperte all'umanità da un mondo senza confini.

The hopeless land run of a young black man in 1889 Oklahoma. The fraternization of young English and German soldiers at the front on a Christmas Night, in the middle of World War I. The lives marked, upended, even annihilated of those that seek a better life in a new country: crossing the Lybian hellscape, the deadly Mediterranean, like Faith and Mansoor, or attempting something desperate, but in a very creative way, as for Sunshine. This and other tales, across ten memorable short stories, capturing - across an extended timeline - places, people, and lives divided by borders. Borders that sometimes can be crossed, but that often are insurmountable and the cause of inhuman suffering. In stormy times, like the one we are living in, these ten short stories should shake our consciences and touch our hearts. They show us - at least those of us who want to see - the possibilities for humanity from a world without borders.
