Less opportunity for parents and children to spend time together. Effects of the breakup on children's school performance and peer relations. Disruptions of extended family relationships. Problems caused by the parents' dating and entering new relationships. Children born to mothers with a high-school diploma who earned a high-school diploma ranged from 78.5% for those who were raised by unmarried parents to 87.7% for those raised by married parents, the study found.
