Tales of Love and Disability

The stories in Tales of Love and Disability centre around people with some form of disability. In the first story, Prosthesis, a pianist with a prosthetic hand who plays on cruise ships finds that his hand no longer obeys the signals that his brain is sending it. The story Castle features a boy with muscular dystrophy who discovers that whenever he castles in chess he can travel to other dimensions where he can walk free of his wheelchair and is strong and powerful. Marsha's Deal is about a lady who lives with a rare disease that turns her body to bone whenever it is damaged. She suicides at Dignitas, the Swiss euthanasia clinic and goes straight to hell. In hell, she meets the Devil and bargains with him for a chance to live her life again. He agrees, but there is a price to be paid. In Those Left Behind children in an Ohakune classroom start getting beamed up through the classroom roof in a modern-day version of the rapture. Blood and Guts tell the story of one woman's craniotomy. Old Hat features a magical hat with the power to grant you your heart's desire. However, your wishes are fulfilled with a dark twist.
