Gran parte de la coleccion que compone el refranero español procede de la Biblia, los evangelios o los libros misticos judios. Los varios cientos de refranes que aparecen en esta obra han quedado impregnados del perfume y del peso de la cabala. Llevandolos a sus fuentes, a la luz de la cabala, el autor presenta una nueva interpretacion de los viejos refranes que en mas de una ocasion sorprendera por su originalidad y su profundidad.
