This is the autobiography of a woman who had great ambitions and stepped into the wide world with lots of dreams ignoring her personal life. But she had to stop short of achieving her ambitions for no fault of hers. Her life became 'moonlight in a desert'. Who is to be blamed for this? The system or destiny, if you believe in destiny? The autobiography is in four parts. Part 1 describes her educational background, how she reached the capital of the country from a small town where she completed her school and college education. Part 2 describes her life as a college lecturer starting with teaching undergraduates and then teaching postgraduates. Part 3 describes her leaving the teaching job in spite of her tremendous love for it due to circumstances beyond her control. She started a 20 year banking career, and her various experiences there, both good and bad, make for an interesting reading. The book is written in a simple language and lucid style. As one reads, one can go through the emotions of her various experiences.
