BNP and myocardial status in AH patients with CHF
Irina Gubareva
The prevalence of CHF in general population is 1.5-2.0%, and it reaches 6-10% in persons older than 65 years. The main etiological causes of CHF in Russia are AH (88% of cases) and CHD (59% of cases). In this connection, it is of great interest to search for universal early laboratory markers of heart failure, some of the main candidates for which are natriuretic peptides. This paper presents data of correlation analysis of myocardial structural and functional parameters and plasma levels of brain natriuretic peptide in the studied patients.
