Plyometric training, when used with a periodized strength-training program, can contribute to improvements in vertical jump performance, acceleration, leg strength, muscular power, increased joint awareness, and overall proprioception. Plyometric drills usually involve stopping, starting, and changing directions in an explosive manner. These movements can assist in the development of agility, speed, aerobic capacity and explosive strength. Several studies have been confirmed the role of elastic energy in human movements. Today, Plyometric training is often used by coaches in many exercise programs as stated, because of the special features of sports such as weight drop and sprint running, the power factor, is of great importance. Hence, it is useful to evaluate its components. Although Plyometric training has been shown to increase performance variables, little scientific information is available to determine if plyometric training actually enhances agility, speed, aerobic capacity and explosive strength. Plyometric is a natural part of most of the movements, evidenced knee injuries, and running economy.
