What Once Was
Edward LeMond
In What Once Was, Edward Lemond writes from the claustrophobic corridor of terminal illness, that narrow passage travelled by those who suffer an illness to its end, be it the one leaving, or the one to be left behind. It's the painful yet privileged intimacy of this space that renders this collection of poetry so compelling--a series of poems Ed wrote over a 12-month period when caring for his wife and friend, Elaine Amyot, in the final 18 months of her life.
