I was adopted in 1950 into a loving two-parent family and enjoyed a wonderful, caring, and nurturing childhood in Chicago. It was only after being blessed later in life with a son, Ryan, and daughter, Kerry, that I began to wonder about my 'unknown' health background and any impact it might have on my children and succeeding generations. The hunt for my health history eventually directed me on a long and winding search for my birth mother, Marie. This eleven-year journey would be filled with drama, heart-breaking decisions, fateful events, and unexpected twists and turns. Although many searches for birth mothers end unsuccessfully, my quest resulted in a 25 - year long loving 'homecoming' as the only child of my birth mother, Marie. This uplifting memoir details my 'twice blessed' story to seek and ultimately find my birth mother. My goal in telling this true story is to inspire women of all ages to consider 'adoption an option' and realize that choosing to carry their baby and place the child into the arms of a loving family is the greatest act of love that a single mother can give her child. Bill Shenoha has enjoyed a successful business sales career for over forty years. Twice Blessed is his first book. He plans to continue guiding and assisting women and families facing the momentous life decision of placing a child for adoption.
