Community Helpers

This unit is all about community helpers, intended for November but suitable for all months of the year. The unit is divided into four segments and it features a variety of activities, including easy-to-do art projects, science activities, rhymes and movements, cooking recipes, and suggested reading and activities for Circle Time - all built around the theme of Community Helpers. These activities will help children better understand and appreciate the daily contributions of our community helpers, such as firefighters, doctors and nurses, mailmen, hairdressers, and more. Each segment includes a complete planning web and classroom goals. All activities are described in great detail and have been tested in various preschool classrooms.
