Free-spirited, cookie shop owner, Everly Hollins, has never had a shortage of friends, and is quite satisfied staying single with her two children, Rosco and Ralph, who just happen to be Russian Blue cats. Despite pressure from her mother, the mayor, the last thing Everly wants to do is put on a fancy white dress and walk down the aisle. She loves her small town, but wishes the people would find someone else to talk about. Her aspiration seems to come true when a new man arrives in town. August Ballard goes to Wood Violet looking for answers about the father who abandoned him when he was three. Welcomed by his uncle, August has no intention of remaining there until he meets Everly, a quirky, independent, and undeniable sexy woman. When most of the town wagers that the crazy cat lady won't give him the time of day, let alone ever tie the knot, it's a bet he can't refuse. What starts out as a challenge and much needed distraction develops into something more. But will it be enough to get Everly to change her mind?
